To begin accepting payments on the NanoKard mPOS App, you must first add a terminal to your merchant location through the NanoKard Platform. Adding a terminal allows your employees to log in to the NanoKard mPOS App, generate unique QR codes for each sale, and complete transactions. Follow the steps below to add your first terminal.
After adding an mPOS terminal, you can edit it anytime from the NanoKard Platform. The steps below also show you how to use all the edit terminal features, including:
- Moving the terminal to a new location
- Temporarily deactivating the terminal
- Changing the terminal name
- Updating the terminal password
- Permanently removing an mPOS terminal from your merchant account
How to add a mPOS terminal
- On the left-hand menu of the NanoaKard Platform navigate to the Business Settings tab and select mPOS Terminals.
- Select Add Terminal in the top, right-hand corner.
- The Add Terminal box will display. All fields must be completed to add an mPOS terminal to a location.
a. Terminal Location - Select the appropriate location for the mPOS terminal from the dropdown menu.
b. Terminal Name - Create a name for the terminal. Note that if the terminal name has been chosen already, the system will automatically assign the corresponding numerical digit to the end of the terminal name.
c. Terminal Password - create a unique password for the terminal. This password will be needed to log into the mPOS from the NanoKard mPOS mobile application.
- Select Next, confirm the information is correct on the summary page, and click Confirm to add the mPOS terminal.
- A message will display from the Terminal Locations page indicating the terminal was added successfully
- Under the Location row in the table, you can view all active and inactive terminals by their assigned location. Click on the desired line item to view the terminal information like name, ID, and status.
How to edit an mPOS terminal
- From the Terminals Locations page, select the appropriate location line item to expand and view all terminals at the location.
- Select the line item of the terminal you want to edit to pull up the Edit Terminal box.
The following edits can be made to the terminal:
a. Terminal Location: You can change the mPOS terminal's merchant location by using the location dropdown to select a different location.
b. Terminal Name: You can change the terminal name to any new, unique name.
c. Active/Inactive: The toggle switch lets you change the terminal's status from active to inactive.
d. Update Password: Change the terminal password.
e. Remove Terminal: Select the remove terminal link to delete the mPOS from the merchant platform.
After completing the steps outlined above, your newly added terminals should be all set. Your next steps to start accepting payments would be adding clerks and downloading the mPOS app to log in.
